How to choose the patch border types?
Three border types for option: merrow border, heat cut border, scissor cut border
● Merrow Border
Merrow border is the type of border: merrowing, sometimes known as overlocking or overlock sewing is the process of wrapping thread around fabric, yielding an efficient and uniform stitch. Merrow borders are best used for designs with regular shapes like circles, squares, rectangles, or ovals. The merrow border common size is 1/8" in thickness. Merrow border is the traditional look of an embroidered patch.

● Heat Cut Border
Heat Cut Edging are recommended on patches that are in complex shapes. A heat cut border is cut out by a hot knife or a laser machine then shaping in the edge of your design. This technique is suggested that using on patches with many angles and irregular borders.

● Scissor Cut Border
This way is extremely suitable for felt, flannel and leather. Some materials such as polyester and cotton might lead to a huge damage on your patch.
